I am sporting the new Firestone Ride Rite Airbags for the Raptor. Jury is still out. I am still playing with settings and trying to figure out the best psi while using my pop up camper and what that might be like with it off as well. I am using Sway Away 2.5 shocks as replacements for the stock / OEM Raptor Fox shocks. Love 'em! They seriously are a huge improvement.

My idea with this Raptor is to try and get the most out of the truck. Most of us use our trucks, even our Raptors as more than toys. (We haul toys too!) Seriously, though most of need some more capability. In my case I am hauling a Pheonix Pop Top Truck Top Camper. It weighs a little over 1,000 pounds. Stressed the stock set up in a major way. I realize that you can't do everything with one set up, but I am trying to stretch it to do the best in a few worlds.
1. Off Road the way a Raptor was intended.
2. Haul my Pop Top Camper.
3. Tow my RZR.
4. Drive the kids to school Monday morning!

Well, I'm getting there with this set up. I might ad that I could semi "Overland" with this set up as long as the off roading wasn't rock crawling. However, I haven't overlanded with it yet.

This truck will be at SEMA at "Magnaflow" Outside if you want to see the set up first hand.

Will keep you informed if you'd all like?

Cheers,

Shoot us some more photos of your camper setup inside!! Looks great!

What model are the firestone bags, and were they an easy install?

do those bags work with the 100% stock setup, and not limit suspension travel? I'd really like to get a pair for towing but they've all seemed to limit the travel

Truck looks great!

Do you have any limit straps with this set-up so you don't pull the bag apart? Did it maintain the factory bump stops?

All of my trucks have always had airbags on them and I was a bit bummed that I wasn't going to be able to have them on my Raptor without limiting suspension travel (Unless I spent quite a bit of $$$ with SDHQ for their setup). If this won't limit travel that would be awesome.

Firestone gave me this kit for the SEMA show. I will be 100% transparent about the whole thing. They haven't asked me to say anything just to boost their sales, so I won't. I'll be honest. If I'm not running this a month from now, it's because it wasn't working for me.

My shocks are 2.5 Sway-Away shocks that were set more aggressive to deal with the load of the camper BEFORE I had the airbags. So, I need to re-adjust the shocks.

The Firestone Ride-Rite set up for the Raptor does NOT limit travel. It is a totally new dealio for them. However, I made the suggestion to them to make the bracket so that it can go further up into frame and gain a few inches more. They said it would be safe, so my next move is to drill it out and raise it a bit as this current bracket isn't adjustable. I will post pics of the process. Firestone is super cool about hearing and collecting suggestions.

Here is my Facebook page with tons of pics of the Raptor: https://www.facebook.com/RockettRaptor?ref=hl

Note: For some reason I wasn't emailed that anyone replied to this thread!

any pics of the bags themselves?

I'm definitely interested if it's an option that doesn't limit travel. About 15% of my mileage with the Raptor is towing, so it's definitely a mod I'd love to do.

I don't like that set up because it appears to limit up travel. I put airbags on my truck, but I did have to weld them in. They are also inboard, so that unless I am jumping it, I get full travel. If I am just flexing, and crawling, there is no problem with suspension travel. I have used it off road, and it appears to work as planned. There are a couple of small modifications that I thought of to make them work perfectly. I am going to have to see if I can make it work.
