I've searched the forum for ideas and only really found the under the rear door handle mod. I purchased a H3R HG100C and want to mount it in the rear at the bottom of the center console. I found this on Amazon:

Drake Off Road FIREX-MNT-DOR Fire Extinguisher Mount : Amazon.com : Automotive

I assume that I need to find a metal plate to put on the inside of the console and drill a couple holes to mount the quick release bracket. Am I on the right track? The FE came with a bracket too, looks like 6 holes to mount and has a release that isn't too bad. Has anyone ever used that one? Does a FE get kicked around much being there?

Thanks and if anyone has pictures to post, would be awesome to look at.

Out off all the FE mounts out there Drakes are by far the smoothest. Khris did a great job designing them, when the time comes I'm going to swap out all mine to Drakes even if I've gotta pay retail prices

In my truck I know it would get kicked a lot in that location. Two kids and their friends actually would guarantee it got run into a lot there. Personally I like the door mount because it is out of the way. Between people and gear in the back seat the doors seem more accessible. Your situation may be different. If you mount it there a plate would be a good idea. Good luck.

I've got an FE on the floor behind the console….I used a small aluminum plate as a backer and the mount that came with the FE. Added an additional velcro strap for insurance.

Survived Raptoberfest and stowing gear in back seat area….no kids and only adult rear seat passengers...
