I've ordered a 2019 and I'm locked in at this point on the factory Tonneau Pickup Box Cover - Hard. I've searched the forum and seen conflicting info.

Can folks share:
0. What make and model is the cover - I've seen both extang and bak listed here
1. Pictures of it on the truck - the ford website ones are too small to be useful
2. Comment on how well it seals - mainly interested in driving in rain/snow, the truck will be stored in garage.
3. Comment on open/close tailgate with the cover closed - I want to be able to get in and out via tailgate without having to open/close the cover
4. Comment on folding it out of the way - I was told that it folds up against the back glass if you want full access to the bed. Is that correct?

I have the "factory" cover with my 2016 F150. It's the extang 2.0.

And a piece of advice: Do whatever you can to opt out of that tonneau cover. It's absolutely TERRIBLE. The top is easily dented. Example: I have two large dents from the foam (yes, soft foam) protectors that make contact when it's folded.

Most importantly, it does an awful (and I mean AWFUL) job at keeping water out. I had planned on leaving golf clubs in the bed of my truck in case the urge ever struck to hit the course. I've never been able to do that because they would be wet every time it rained.

Case in point of how horribly it seals: I just drove 90 minutes to a friend's place to help him cut down some trees. I brought some tools with me in the bed of the truck. When I arrived, the tools were covered in snow. I don't even know how that's possible, but they were.

You could cover your truck bed with saran wrap and have better protection.

If it is the extang you're getting, DO NOT PURCHASE THAT COVER.

Also, you must be a programmer starting your list at 0, lol.

Hands down the best is the Bakflip F1 IMO. Ford sells several that aren’t shown online and one might even be from Bakflip but they don’t carry the F1. I believe the F1 can support something crazy like 400lbs on top of it and it doesn’t dent.

My late year 2018 came with I believe the Advantage / Ford branded tonneau cover.

It was listed on the factory window sticker as a dealer installed item.

I love it and it looks great but it does leak a little bit in heavy rain or in the car wash.

I have it on my 17 and agree with what Erjdvr said. You can open and close the tailgate with tonneau closed but sometimes I have to hit the auto release twice or give it a little pull to open. Works nice. Noticed it can dent even from golfing it open all the way with the foam pads.
