Can using the factory remote start function often or daily cause issues?

I would say, no. Only wear could be killing the battery sooner in the fob.

Are you using it so precool your truck? I'm guessing as you are from Arizona, seems like a waste of fuel if that's the case. Not judging, to each their own, for sure.

From a wear perspective, it’s no different than starting the engine using the key/push button.

My concern was from a wear perspective, hard start, electrical issues, early component failure that may result from constantly using the remote start function. Also, I do not use it to precool the vehicle. Right now the weather is 40-50 degrees in the morning, so I like to let my truck warm up a few minutes before I drive it to work. Often by the time I get to work, which is approximately 4 miles away from my house, my truck hasn't hit 180 degrees.

Gotcha, yeah, probably a good idea to warm it up, so moisture doesn't build up in the exhaust, etc. I don't have remote start on my Gen1, but I do on my JK and use it all the time when it's cold out, to me that's when it's below freezing, it's all perspective, regardless, I haven't noticed anything wearing out, although I did have to change the starter in it this year, but I wouldn't contribute that to remote start as I'm only starting it once, not repetitively.

There’s nothing to worry about in that regard. Since you’re only driving 4 miles, it’s better to let it run for a minute or two to warm up.

Cant live without it, especially during the summer months. I suppose it’s also better for the engine in the sense that it allows it to properly warm up before you start to drive it.

I don’t see if an issue unless you let it idle for long periods of time. But I believe there’s a 15 min cap as well.

I used it all the time. No issues. I usually started the truck a couple minutes before I left the house and drove it very nicely till I got to the freeway. That was enough to warm up the engine.
