Thanks to this thread, I finally got around to installing my extra bank of ford upfitters. I was pretty set on BigBlue & YJ's install in a factory opening, but using the right side nook since I wanted to keep my brake controller. Well the right side proved to be a major pita the further I progressed. It all turned out nice though, made up an easy access panel for quick and simple lighting/power changes down the road, and mounts up neatly behind the pass airbag using factory dash bolts.

So I can assume you used the Rigid relays that come with the lights to act as the "factory relay box"? Did you mount the switch plate from "behind" the opening in the dash? Did you run a wire to illuminate the switches in the ON position?

Thanks!

i had some spare 30a relays, but yes you can cut out the ones that come with the lightbars too. I have more pics in my build thread, but I used the ford harness for that switch block, as BB showed earlier .

Its mounted from the rear of the bezel, at first had it in there w/o glue and it was sandwiched nicely. But wanted it more flush, so had to grind more n glue. Be careful with the adhesive on the switch block, the 3M stuff I used was essentially dissolving away the plastic, so get it aligned and dont f with it. Pin 2 goes to an illumination source to power the switch lights. Ill post up a nerd wiring diagram i made for it all soon

Thx! I'm all over a nerd diagram when it comes to wiring. I've done all my wiring so far, but the Ford switches are right at the fringe of my skill set.

I was wondering if I was to do this, can we make all switches to support 30/40amp like upfitter 1&2? Of course, running the correct wiring/fuse would be a def. When wiring the relay board together but would the switches 3 & 4 be able to handle the extra power at that point?? I do see the switch bank has leads. I can only assume at this point that switch 3&4 can't be more than 15amps......WHEN modding the relays for the switch bank. *edit

Yep, got that for sure. I was wondering if I could just purchase the switch bank and use the rigid wiring harness with relays and run wire accordingly? Seems like an easier approach for me at the moment.......
