Basecare 8yr / 100K miles from Flood Ford (as mentioned here). Out the door price deducting Ford Pass points was $1040.
Turned out the Ford Pass points were worth $240 and not $200. Process was fast and easy, found here: https://www.floodfordesp.com/.
Other folks here mentioned better pricing from their dealer, I could not find that.

I am trying to make this decision also. May I ask why you went with Basecare and didn't step it up one to include Extracare? That includes the category High Tech which is the following:
  • Air suspension, electronic (selected components)
  • Compass and thermometer readout displays
  • Instrument Cluster, Electronic (Excluding Dash Pad, Clock, Audio and Visual Equipment)
  • Keyless entry system (excluding door handles)
  • Power antenna
  • Power door locks and retainer clips (excluding door handles)
  • Power seat motors
  • Power window motors/regulators
  • SecuriCode™ Keyless Entry
  • Speed Control
With this vehicle having so many electronics, I just want to make sure I am covered with all the sensors and electronics that could possibly go wrong. It's only a few more $$ to add this category. I can understand not going all the way to Premium (includes Emissions, Audio and Safety) since those 3 areas a person who has some skills could fix themselves and emissions as stated in an above post here in CA is covered for about 7 years by state law.

Is it wrong to think that High Tech is going to cover all the electronics? I'm coming from a vehicle that doesn't even have a backup camera so please forgive the general term "electronics." lol

Well, I was primarily interested in keeping the vehicle 'on the road'. I drive them until they die (344K,325K,315K,189K miles up to 20 years old) and haven't had any issues with High Tech stuff. I will admit, those vehicles had much less technology. Had I known that I was getting that nice Ford Pass credit, I may have reconsidered. Also, chances are it will be driven less than 10K miles / yr and lives in a garage. Sounds like Extracare is for you.

Extended warranty just adds the $$$$ and mostly never get used in my experience, I stopped buying them long time ago. 5yr/100k kms(canada!) Usually a new Gen truck is out before the base 3yr/60k kms expires. Before the warranty runs out the Gen 4 will be teased and then most will end up trading, selling their trucks.

Considering the technology they have now I am tempted to purchase with no hesitation at the moment. They did offer extended at the time of ordering and still can get it once the truck shows up. I did not go into details at the time so I don't know what options are available if any, but did state that the warranty is transferable which makes it a good selling feature.
The offer seemed to be a one time deal and maybe higher if I decide to purchase later...
So the website shown here seems to be for U.S models only?? I remember discussions that if you bought a used U.S vehicle and brought it into Canada that the dealer would not cover any warranty at all, not sure how true this is.
I believe its a Ford extended warranty and not a third party insurance you are paying for as I will ask for some details at the time of getting truck.

I’ve read this thread a few times since I picked up my Gen3 in September. I pretty much decided that I was not going to get an extended warranty. I haven’t bought one for years on any of my vehicles. My dealer wanted around $2,200 for the Premium Care 8/75,000 mile warranty. The more I’ve driven my truck the more I realized all the expensive tech in her. I looked on Flood City Ford website the other day and they listed the Premium Care 8/75,000 for $1,380. They also stated that prices would be going up on 1/5. Thanks to this thread I also found out that you could use your Ford Pass points towards the warranty at Flood Ford. When I bought the truck Ford gave me 42,000 Ford pass points. Those points deducted $210 off of the warranty. Anyways, I bit the bullet and got the Premium Care 8/75,000 warranty with $50 deductible for $1,170. If I end up selling the truck before the end of this warranty they will pro rate a refund or the warranty is transferable to the next owner. Just wanted to share with the forum. I feel so warm a cuddly now.

Flood lists the 7/75,000 mile warranty for $1,380. Anyway, a damn good purchase nonetheless. I made the jump a few days ago...Premium 7yr/100,000/$100 deduc. @ $1,545. Wanted to keep the cost somewhat modest while tacking on a few options.

Yep. $1,380 with the $50 deductible. That’s what I paid minus the Ford Pass points I got when I bought the truck. Took it down to $1,170. I checked the sight this morning and it appears the costs did go up like they stated they would. Looks like around a $100 increase across the board.

Second or third time I read this thread.
I’m unsure I’ll keep the truck more than a couple years but in 6 months I’ve already put 8.5k miles on it and more recently have driven it a bit less.
Based on a recent second home purchase, I’m thinking I’ll be driving ~20k miles a year. Between 2 and 5 years.
Extra care for 5/125 or premium care?
Any input appreciated.
Can someone confirm that Flood Ford will prorate a refund if I sell/trade in the vehicle prior to the end of the extended warranty?
Thank you

Does the Flood Ford warranty cover rental?...if you don't buy the extended rental? Or do you need to purchase the rental option?
