everyone says its same warrenty but i dint know, im looking at all this too.

To get back on topic. Yes, it is the same Ford Esp that the dealer sells and you can use it at any dealer since it is from Ford. They make their money on quantity and selling a crap ton of them. I checked it out before I purchased. Any retailer will tell you, there is a HUGE mark up in warranty plans and it is mostly profit. That's why they all try to get you to buy them. However, with a new model year in the Gen 2, a new engine, and a new 10 speed tranny getting a extended warranty is a now brainer in my book especially when it can be purchased for around $1600.00.

Rule of thumb from those owning ecoboost engines to this point highly recommend the extended warranty. Make sure you have full engine/transmission coverage for the time you think you will own it. Cam phaser, timing chain, blown engine, and new transmission will be costly.

Ford charges around 2x what they payout, so all these cheap, “no-brainer” extended warranties mean Ford is not paying out much on F-150 ecoboost warranty claims. Seems it is far more reliable than you claim.

Whatever the case of who gets what money, the vehicle owner needs the extended warranty for the high risk of ecoboost-centric engine issues as well as transmission questions. MJ’s case was a great example of the need for this warranty. Keep in mind that once the factory engine warranty expires, the ford techs will most always recommend a new engine for every problem. So where is it? Why no even mention of it anywhere?

I have never got any use out of an extended warranty, anyone here have F150 Raptor specific experience with one saving large financial pain?

$3800 sounds like too much to me though.

I paid $2900 for the Ex warranty when I bought my 2012 Raptor. In the last month it has paid for itself.
"No signal from backup camera" message on display = got backup camera replaced.
"turn off hill decent control" message = replaced some module in the steering column.
Loud bang when opening sunroof and stuck in open position = sun roof track got replaced.

Each would have been $1000 plus if out of pocket. First 2 were fixed at same time so only paid 1 deductible ($100) 3 weeks later sunroof goes bang and paid another $100 deductible. Mine is not the Ford warranty but one we got talked into by the dealer (I got tired of arguing with the salesman and the wife so just said "fine whatever") so there is an approval process and it take a few days but I will get the Ex warranty when I get a new Raptor this year.
