I'm looking at the Xpel Prime XR window tint 80% for the windshield, which is the lightest they have. I never had a windshield done before. I'm looking more for heat/UV rejection than the look. I was wondering what your experience has been with it, especially as far as optical clarity and cleaning. Thanks.

I have 70% on my windshield and the clarity and heat rejection are great. I also like the look. However, I am using Prestige Spectra PhotoSync IRD.

Yes, I just use a damp microfiber. It works fine. But I only clean the inside of the windshield when it needs it, which actually isn't very often. I wash the truck myself.

I've never had a problem with wear on my tinted side windows either, which see a lot more cleaning and friction from being rolled up and down. I really wouldn't worry about the wear issue.

i have Llumar air blue 70 on mine - love it, won't ever drive a car without it again. On summer road trips, when driving into the sun it dramatically reduces the heat load. To clean, just don't use windex. Either a clean damp micro fiber or a solution of white vinegar and water works really well. With the Llumar I have, I don't even notice it is there to be honest.

I have ceramic on mine, I think it is Llumar, and I love it. Cleans up fine and not only helps with the heat, but cuts the glare down, I don't need sunglasses except on exceptionally bright days. If you are going to put a decal (like park pass or something which sticks to the inside of the windshield) Amazon sells a film that you can cut and stick your sticker on and then it sticks to the windshield by static. So it is easy to remove.

I have the lummar statos 70% and it’s a huge difference. The tint does have a slight blueish tint to it. In the summer I can still touch my steering wheel after it sits in the sun.

You can definitely do the ceramic 80%. Won’t even notice it but it’ll cut down in the heat a lot. I have it on the sunroof as well, definitely helps having kids in the back seat.
