Can anyone tell me if the stock exhaust tips are removable or if they are welded? I'm wanting to take the tips off and polish them.

Cuttin torch. When ya have them off when your having your muffler of choice added, paint them flat black.

The two tips are welded together. If you loosen the clamps and cover it with WD40 over night, it will come right off in the morning. Then a grinder can separate the tips. I reused mine with the new exhaust.

Day 1 of polishing didnt go so well. I'm using a palm sander that seems to be getting the job done. Started out with 250 grit but still have pits in the metal. Going to the hardware store tommorrow for more sandpaper. Any suggestions on what else will help make the job easier?

Takes all the fun out of it. Hopefully I can make it look good. If not, just another excuse to get new tips. I like the ford racing ones, the pricetag is absurd though.
