I took my truck into the dealership the other day and told them about the rattling (and other concerns) and I was told that it was "normal". To be fair I did drop it off in the morning after about a 30 minute drive. Then the next day I recorded this video after a cold start and then went to the dealership and played it for them. I was told to email the service adviser the video so I did that and sent a link to this thread. My truck is a 6/22 build.

Just train your mind to think that when you hear the sweet sound of the cold start rattle that you are about to step in and drive one of the baddest trucks on the road. And, those peons that don't have the privilege of hearing that rattle might as well be driving a prius.

In all seriousness, the rattle is annoying, the lag on getting a fix is a joke, and those who say it is normal can fu(k right off.

I am almost positive this has nothing to do with the rattle people are hearing but you never know. I noticed a metallic rattle when I'd hit rumble strips. I got under the truck and had two very loose bolts on the furthest back skid plate. It's a small skid plate beyond the larger silver skid plate. I tightened those and the rattle is gone. Like I said I doubt this is your cause but may be worth checking. The looser those bolts get the louder the rattle will be.

I had the same rattle noise as well. My rattle was all the time and not just at cold start. Give it just a little bit of throttle and it would go away, but as soon as you let off the throttle the rattle would come back. My dealer ordered a new muffler (Part # ML3Z5230GF) and it took almost a month for the part to arrive. Had it installed today and the rattle noise is gone. While it was in the shop I had the Sagging Heat Shield recall taken care of and there were also two additional recalls that they corrected. Both appear to be software updates. Recall 22S17 - Reprogram Integrated Trailer Relay Module and Recall 22S15 - Powertrain Control Module Software Update.
Just an update to my last post. It's been almost 9 months since the dealer replaced the muffler due to the rattle noise and the noise is still gone. Keep pushing your dealers to fix the issue and replace the muffler. The muffler rattle and the shock clunking noise was driving me nuts. Luckily my dealer fixed both issues (New Muffler and New Shocks).

Apparently we need to come to North Carolina to get our trucks fixed.

Anyone get this fixed yet?
Nope.

Had my entire exhaust replaced a few months ago. Rattle came back. Inherent problem with the valves in my opinion. You are lucky and got one that hasn't failed... yet.
