I removed the last section of pipe on my magnaflow so that it dumps just after it goes over the axle....I'm not a super big fan on the polished tips. I know other guys have done this but mostly without a spare tire mounted under the bed. The spare isn't in the direct line of fire of the exhaust, but it's close. I haven't done any long trips yet, but after a couple of 15 minute trips around town the spare doesn't seem to be getting more than just a little warm. Does anyone know if this will cause a problem for the spare or not?

I'll be dumping my exhaust as well under the bed somewhere using a Magnaflow Turndown Tip #35180. I can't decide if I want it dumped after the axle or before.

Mine dump behind axle. Haven't noticed any issue yet. I'll look for my pics.

A little bent metal on a high speed off-road 4x4 that weighs 6,000+ pounds?
Nooooooooooooooo! That's awful!

(Um, they'll bend back just as easily, won't they?)

Some people have completely crushed there tips which causes significant back pressure do to the significant decrease in air flow. It looks bad and isn't good for your truck to crush your exhaust pipes this gets rid of a problem section. Why do you have such a hard on against this mod?

But by all means, let me bend a "little" metal on your truck and see if you look for a solution for it.
