don already pointed it out but since you asked, I replaced the sensor and tether and no more code. easy fix, less than $20 with shipping. if you have the S&B intake just make sure you follow their instructions for install when connecting the new sensor.

Well my cable extension that's been on there for 4 years finally crapped out and had a sharp bend at the connector, cutting one of the wires. Anyone have the part number for the extension cable? I can't find it anywhere! I do see that aFe makes one, but that will take weeks to get on backorder.

Any problems with me running my truck without that cable in place, aside from maybe fuel efficiency?

IAT is an important input to the PCM; I’d avoid that if at all possible. Can you cut open the harness extension and repair the damaged wires? Solder/heat shrink is preferable, but you could also use one of those heat shrink butt connectors that has solder built into it.

It's amazing how the damn supply chain issue is still a problem! I did not have enough wire next to the connector(maybe 1/8" of wire), so I tried to find an extension cable and could only find ones by AFE Power available, or so I thought. Everybody says "In Stock". Then you try ordering and they say, "Will ship in 7-10 days. Made to Order".......HOWEVER, I found the female Motorcraft connector WPT-322 for $202.99(which I knew was wrong online and in the store) at an AutoZone in the middle of Houston. I told them Advanced Auto Parts and others had it for $40-$60 and could they price match......Score! I got it the darn connector for $49.99 from AutoZone, spliced it into the S&B cable, and installed in the parking lot. Used the COBB to clear the codes and my truck is happy again.

I ran it this morning and it sounded like $h!+ starting and idling, but after resetting correct the cable and resetting ECU, it was noticeably smoother and running right.

Is the IAT orientation specific to how it sits in the tube? For example, the hole and rubber grommet it goes into, when inserted into the intake tube, does not stop or have any indicators when you twist it. You can insert it straight in, but does it need to be facing a certain direction relative to the airflow?
