These are the AFE's if I'm not mistaken

as pointed out above, they probably improve the sound somewhat but not as much as Ford's new exhaust that probably had more engineering put into it.

while it won't sound exactly the same, I imaging it would be 95% of the sound if you equal the length of the cat pipes and add a x pipe in there somewhere. This reminds me of the subaru's sti's with the 2.5 boxer. Stock, the exhaust sound has a nice burble/grumble and a unique sound for a flat four due to the unequal length headers on it, and the unique noise it makes is usually preferred over equal length headers that they make for a performance aftermarket headers/downpipe that gets a couple more hp/tq due to equaling the scavenging effects of the exhaust but looses the unique burble/grumble.

My truck not a raptor but Raptor power. I built a very similar exhaust to the 2021 Raptor version well over a year ago. It does sound quite different from Gen1. Cant wait to actually get it out on road driving. Cost was approx 1000 for complete system to build it myself in 304 Stainless038.JPG

quick startup. Was having sound issues with my phone as it would record well for fraction of second then quit.

Decided to try system I use on high HP big block ford engines for absolute best sound on the Raptor engine. I can dial in the sound from here depending on what it does with this setup. Very unique sound for a v6.

That is not even close to the 21 trombone (equal length) exhaust. The ford effort on the trombone is still not enough effort to make it sound ok.

No need to be trombone, all they did going that route was trying to make it equal length. I have found the H type pipe makes better sound than the X pipe. Will see how mine sounds vs FP 21 version.

Back in 2008-09 Ford used H vs X on the GT500KR. It sounded much better and per them made more HP. Obvious they spent a TON of time on the new Raptor system. not knocking it gotta be reason for final results but they have a lot more to think about and db limits to meet etc vs a backyard special. Will soon find out how mine works, sounds.

you are right - sorry that I did spell that out better. there is just no way to make this exhaust sound decent. Ford missed this concept when they put all their eggs in one basket (ecoboost). If they had a better sound (or no sound, like an e-vehicle), I think the market would be happier.
I would agree that an H-pipe is waaayyyy better in sound than an x-pipe. the x-pipe gets too raspy and is not my style. I have an h-pipe on all my vehicles for that same reason.
