Hello! My real name is Josh. I live in rural Ohio. I'm an 8-year Navy Vet and a family man. I also enjoy flying and Shooting.

I'm a complete newb to the Raptor. My wife and I have a '13 Ecoboosted XLT that we really like. I'm currently driving a Jeep, and I really like it but it does a real number on my back... I've been lurking here for a few days and absorbing all of the information available on the Gen2 Raptor. I'm getting somewhat serious about ordering one. I love everything about it, except for the lack of a manual transmission - but that's just how the world is going these days. Introduction: made.

Welcome,
There is a lot of info on here regarding the gen 1 and gen 2 trucks. I am also from Ohio. Toledo area. The gen 2 truck looks pretty awesome and I love my gen 1. Can't go wrong with these trucks. Very nice ride and you won't be disappointed. Not with a gen 1 truck at least but I'm sure the gen 2 trucks ride will be nice as well. I am an army vet with back and hip injuries from Afghanistan and I can honestly say that this is the best riding vehicle I have ever had. It is also the most expensive vehicle I have ever had! Anyway, pull the trigger. If you don't end up liking it I guarantee you will be able to off load it and make most if not all of your money back.

I'm glad to head they have an easy ride - that's encouraging to hear! For the life of me, I can't figure out why Jeep can't put a decent seat in a vehicle they know has a rough suspension!

Anyway, I've always admired the Raptor. There is something about them that appeals to both my red neck, and my love of exotic cars - but when they came out I was on Active Duty and had no hopes of being able to afford one.

You're just a bit north of my, BTW. I'm outside of Dayton.

Dayton, nice. If you decide on a gen 1 I have gotten pretty good at working on mine. Kind of had to after I had a bad water damage accident and had about $20, 000 worth of repairs done! Plus I like to work on my own stuff. Just rebuilt my front shocks and have had most of the interior apart for a variety of things.

Also have a bit of a redneck side but never had anything exotic. Couldn't even dream of a price point like these trucks demand when I was serving. Got my 2010 for 33,500 a little over a year ago. Way more than I would have been able to consider for a vehicle in the past. Especially a used one! You won't regret getting one of these especially if you are into performance vehicles. If you get one soon you can go to the Havoc event and we can talk shit around some open hoods. Just sayin...

If I buy one, I'll definitely be looking to make it to a few events. My conscience couldn't be clear with a truck like this until I take it on a good trail trip and put a couple scratches in the paint!

Welcome shipmate I have a GEN2 ordered and did six years in the Navy as well.

I'm new as well and have found the welcome a bit mixed. Kind of what I expected.

If I didn't have to work, I'd be there! My 3-year old son LOVES "Peeps!"

Right on... Six year contract - were you a Nuke, by chance?
And yeah, forums are like that. Some people are helpful, others are anonymous b-holes because the internet allows them to be...

I have always found the FRF crew to be awesome. Provided lots of help during my shock rebuild but yeah forums can be a challenge. Not sure about your trump hashtag. I thought all the navy guys disowned him after that McCain comment. Lol
