I hear my 2014 doing this occasionally too. Its intermittent, so I know my dealership won't do anything about it.

Hi gang,

Don't forget that I can help if you decide to get this checked out at the dealership. Just send me a PM with your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership; I'll get to work on some ways to assist.

I was on the beach with the raptor this past saturday and I noticed a ticking noise coming from the drivers side of the engine. It seems to tick faster as the rpms go up. No codes and everything seems to be working fine other then a slight thump in drive when lightly accelerating from a stop. I got the truck back in july and it currently has 3500 miles on it. I was driving it hard but nothing really crazy. It did seem to be giving off alot more heat then normal but like I said, I was running it kind of hard. Has anyone else had this issue? I called the dealer and made an appt for this coming monday.

any help would be great, Thanks!

Hey are you hzauke??

If it is engine speed dependent (RPM) - than it is just valve train noise. The 6.2 is known to be a noisy engine: http://www.fordraptorforum.com/f39/6-2-intermittent-valve-train-ticking-noise-start-up-11677/

mine isn't intermittent. It started saturday and hasnt stopped since. The noise starts immediately on start up and does not stop while the truck is running.

It is RPM dependant but it does not sound like like normal valve train noise. Definitely something wrong here. ill post up a video later on today.

so after 3 days of the truck being at the dealership (and without a loaner) Not one person there has the slightest clue as to what the problem is. I called because I needed a car for this weekend and they tell me they still have no loaners available. I have to pick up my truck and bring it back on the 21st! Some great customer service there Ford!
