I know the rattle on start up, this one is when warm and in idle during a light rev of the engine. Coming from the front of the engine.

Supposedly they called the raptor hotline and two other cases were reported. They updated the PCM with an updated file and it resolved the issue.

Good to hear.

I was in the same boat. Had a rattle on startup and when revving.

I went to the dealer for a PCM update. The service advisor looked my VIN up in their system and couldn't find anything about an update for me. I asked them to hook it up to their diagnostic machine to check. They found an update and updated the PCM/TCM within 30 minutes.

The truck runs smoother now, shifting is better and the rattling is gone.

I think Ford needs to rethink how they get these new, revised tunes out to people. In the past, they wait for you to come in for service and then they just do it. This particular tune update is very important because it is improving the oiling to the cam phasers. If an owner doesn’t go in and ask for this, they will slowly be destroying the cam phasers (rattle). It seems like all 17/18 ecoboost owners should make a trip in for service just to have the latest tune flashed.

The epic fail in your posts is great as to defy classification.

You have no idea what any tune for any Ford contains, much less an ecoboost tune. You’re only parroting internet posts buy unknown sources with no independent source data.

It was the same with your weep hole lies, the new engine you promised would be here as a 2017.5 option and continues.

Smart ’17 and ’18 ecoboost owners will ignore everything you say.
