engine Cut-off and low oil pressure warning!!

Glad you were able to find and repair the culprit @Chainsaw .

I definitely agree that having the engine suddenly turn off and losing the ability to readily control the truck while at speed on the road could make for a very dangerous situation.

Hopefully people are reporting this failure to NHTSA so that pressure is put on the beancounters at Ford to turn this TSB into something more along the lines of a recall since it pertains to safety.

Received my kit, time to finally reveal the big secret, I haven't been this excited since the Lost finale...








The instructions are a bit wordy, basically you tap into the blue red wire, shove the terminal side into slot 70, put the fuse in and done.

Here are a few money shots from the instructions:






I was wondering how relocating solves the issue, then i saw they change the fuse style. I'm guessing that's what keeps it from happening again?

Yes, it's the fuse type change that is fixing the issue. The new one must be able to withstand a greater temperature.

Ran into this issue today.

Doing about 75-80 mph uphill on the interstate, not an insane incline but, an incline. All of a sudden the engine dies and I see the low oil pressure warning and I pull a frogger move and dodge other cars to get to the side of the road. Fuel was at about 1/2 tank. Oil was recently changed, still had about 2000 miles until my scheduled next change.

I wait a little and try to start it again but it would't turnover. All my gauges read normal, tranny temp reached 201 degrees at one point but my oil pressure gauge was pinged at zero.

The truck was already towed to a dealer by the time I saw this thread so I didn't check to see if fuse #27 was melted but did that fuse fix everyone's issue?, sounds the same as mine. I guess I'll know more in a few days but I'm hoping it's a small fix.

Just picked up a Hennessey Velociraptor 600 with the Roush supercharger.

Happened to me today, took a 180 degree curve, came to the stop sign and no power steering. quickly restarted the truck and everything was fine.

Oil levels are good and fuse 27 is good.

Must be the hennessey

Happened to me again. (12 Hennessey 600 , SC with the Roush)

Dealer installed the TSB - relocation of the #27 fuse last week.

Picked up the truck, put about 100 miles on it. Then helped someone get out a ditch Friday afternoon. Had to drive the truck up an incline up to the road. Drove it about 15 minutes home and turning onto my street - low oil pressure came back up and truck power steering locked up again.

Truck is back at the dealer now.
