The time is needed on our end... Just so people are aware, we're fully endorsed by the Baja state tourism board, who is going to help us ensure this endeavor is a success, and is VERY excited to have us expand our runs into Mexico. We're working with local authorities and land owners, gaining permission for using the trails on these runs... and we're finalizing a partnership with "Instant Mexico Insurance" who insures all of the SCORE, NORRA, CODE, and other off road racing events in Mexico. We're taking every step we can to ensure the best experience possible, with cooperation with all local authorities. Not always an easy task in Mexico!

That'll make owners feel much better about the thought of going into Mexico. You guys have done an A+ job with this and I wish I had the means to go. You're teaser video is just not fair!!! LOL. It looks like everyone involved is in for the ride of a lifetime!!!!

I am interested in this as well - question though, have you had any problems with the criminal activity going on in Mexico? We have friends down there that were driving a nice truck, were pulled over at gunpoint, beaten and had their truck stolen. this was about 50 miles outside of Cancun.

There is a big difference between Baja Mexico and Mexico. As we all know the drug cartels are very active in Mexico and crime can also happen anywhere. As far as Baja, I have never had any problems with law enforcement or criminal activity. I have many American friends who live in San Felipe full time and feel safer there than they do when in the US.

Being a foreign country, there are always things that can happen that may be outside your reasonable control. However, we do all we can to minimize these issues. In addition to the items listed a few posts ago regarding our government support and local contacts, we also have many plans in place for dealing with a variety of situations that arise. From contacts to deal with local police, contacts for USA based life-flights, contacts for local land owners, we're building them all. This is part of the reason the cost of these runs is what it is! The more that participants see that we have done to build this in the most professional and safe manner possible, the more people will have faith and confidence that they're investing in an adventure that's doing all it can to ensure they have a great time, safely.

We're all married, have families, have kids... like many of you. We would not put ourselves in a situation we feel is unsafe, nor would we want to put anybody else in harms way. Had we felt these runs to Baja would be unsafe for our group and it's participants, we simply would not be doing them.

Lastly, the term "safety in numbers" truly does apply... whether it's a dark alley in downtown LA, or in Mexico. We have a very large group, fully wrapped support vehicles, and will be welcomed by all locals everywhere we go.

Peter, I am interested as well. It would be cool to get a DFW or Texas convoy together for one of these California events.
