I thought KHC only made drop shackles?

+3 Deavers with drop shackle will put you close to stock height after settling and you may only gain half an inch.

I'd be lying if I didn't say I was wondering the same thing. Thanks for the confirmation as that would suck. I will reach out to KHC and get their input.

Does the drop shackle make that big of a difference? Or were you referring just to the upgraded springs?

Just the leaf springs, they are a huge improvement!
The shackles you won’t really notice. I have the camburg shackles on mine just because they are more robust and aftermarket leafs weigh much more than the stock leaf. I will be using them on my Icon leaf kit as well when they arrive.

After further investigation, discussion and the use of several mathematical algorithms, (thanks again brettmess24 too), I will not install the shackles at this time. The combination of the Deaver+3s and Eibachs should be perfect as is. Follow back up on 3/11.

What setting are you going to run your Icons? I carry 350-450lbs all the time and I do tow with mine maybe 5-6 times a year. I’m back and forth between setting 2 with normal shackle and 3 with a 1 inch drop shackle. I’m waiting until closer to my return date to order the Icon and Eibach springs. Just going to use the SDHQ bump pad for now, debating to order the longer shackle. Shipping is a PITA for me. I want the truck to still have a rake, I don’t worry about it when towing the weight distribution hitch with factory suspension did fine I’m sure the new springs will make it even better.

Is there a reason you want more droop? I would think the shocks will be the limiting factor with the drop shackles unless your planning on custom shocks? I completely understand the folks that buy +3 deavers and add the drop shackle to run stock height and have the adjustability(Icon RXT)to remove the drop shackles and lift the truck but I have no data on what that does to the shocks and if straps would be needed. Something to think about.

I will be setting my Icon leafs on setting two. I carry 300lbs in/on the bed at all times and frequently add more with recovery gear etc. I also plan to get a rack for overland and that will include a RTT.

I also tow my Yamaha 242LS that when loaded up with fuel and gear has to be pushing 6500lbs with trailer not even factoring in dogs and people!

I have the Fox Factory 3.0 shocks and Icon UCA’s.

Trust me your going to love the better leaf’s in the rear regardless if you go deaver or Icon. I love my deavers +2HD but the coating and now Icons adjustability is perfect for me. I love the ability to adjust my shocks and soon to be leafs as I see fit.

I was thinking of doing it not nessasaraly for the extra droop but more for the additional load capacity. And yes I’d have to do limit straps to protect the stock shocks and probably look at the longer brake lines To cover my ass. Im about the same of 350-450 pounds all the time, plus gear if going out of town. The enclosed trailer I use to transport my side by side is around 7500lbs loaded.
