Hi all, so I dumped my RAM Power Wagon and went all in with Blue Oval of dinosaur variety :)
I made a lot of mods on my RAM, but it proved to be more of a pain in the A rather than offroad truck due its poor stock shocks, super expensive mods and its weight. Sure, you can do good in rock crawling, but I personally have more fun by just bashing backcountry desert roads and I got fed up with constant suspension problems.

I'm planning a short write up on cost-effective Gen 3 mods for like-minded folks wishing to have better/safer/happier desert bashing and it does not quite fall under engine/suspension mods so what do you think where should I post it? General Gen 3 forum?

Do you already have said Gen 3 or just ordered? There are a lot of posts on desert run set up. Depends on how crazy you want to go.

it's built and shipped already so I hope to take delivery in the next few weeks. That's the thing - I don't want to go crazy but I will go comprehensive yet cost-effective :) Seen some threads about builds but not a single thread that simply lists all those small mods and explains why you might need them so I feel like since I've already spent countless hours researching them - it would be good to post it somewhere.

That's because everyone has different levels of "must haves." But a good simple list could start with:

Goosetune
Chase lights
Recovery rack with related recovery tools
Radio coms
Bump stops

Again it really depends on what your minimum is. Mine includes bumpers, shocks, Intercooler, fenders, bed sides and goes on from there.

My suggestion would be to take it out a few times with friends and get the feel of the truck. Let it tell you which path to go down. Then build it accordingly.
