Dragging metal noise

I have a strange noise I’ve noticed on my truck lately.

when I slow down, coast to a stop, I detect a grinding noise. I did power stop pads and rotors a month back but I don’t think the two are related.

the noise is not present when the truck is slid into neutral while coasting.

I Pulled the read diff and it looks ok and I replaced the gear oil. I replaced the IWE check valve and vacuum hose and the solenoid appears to be making a solid vacuum. I dont think it’s the IWE hubs but I’m not certain. I haven’t pulled the hubs apart...

the best way to describe the noise... picture worn out brake pads and you get that metal on metal sound... or the sound a cylinder hone makes when you haven’t lubricated enough.

No other performance related issues. Drives great. Just did a tune up with new plugs and such... and I did a fresh alignment.

I hate having to concede defeat to bring it in... last time I went to the dealer they asked me not to come back due to my level of mods.

Any thoughts from my fellow motor heads?

Dust shield or IWE. You can manually bend the dust shield easy enough. IWE you should pressure test each of them. Is there any possibility you put the pads in wrong? They'll make noise, remove wheel weights, etc.
Does it make the noise in 4WD?

The noise doesn’t change in any drive mode. It goes away in neutral. It can’t be a dust shield or brake issue. They’re silent when the truck is coasting in neutral. It’s a drivetrain moving part scenario. It has to be the hubs or the transmission I guess...

Following. I've experienced this same thing at very low speeds. Changing between 2H and 4H doesn't seem to do anything. It also doesn't do it consistently, but you can slightly feel it in the pedal.

It’s not when braking. It’s coasting and slowing down by engine breaking with the brakes off. Pop it in neutral and it goes away. Pop it back in drive and it comes back. 4wd and locked diff make no difference.

I can’t pinpoint if it’s the front or the back.

Sure

it’s your run of the mill 2017 with a 1.75 inch level, deavers, icon wheels, MPT tune, inter cooler, etc. It has to be the hubs or something whining on compression braking I’m the driveline.
