A quick question for anybody that's done quarters in their Raptor or has knowledge of the different wheel drives. I don't have my Raptor yet, so I cannot test this and thought it would be a good idea to ask the experienced members before I try this, or get told not to try it, because it's retarded and I don't know any better.
The way I understand the different wheel drive modes to work, is they have a speed limit at which they will disengage, for example 4-high disengages after something like 50 mph, even if the truck is in that mode, and defaults back to 2 wheel rear. Is this theory accurate? If so, what is the actual speed disgengagement of 4 wheel drive?
The reason I'm asking is for doing quarters, starting the truck off in 4-high to create an AWD effect for a better launch with less slippage and more grab.
Would doing this be problmeatic or very likely break something? Like I said, it's just a curiosity question and I'd like for the people smarter than me to let me know if it's an epic fail waiting to happen or solid judgment.
