Door edge trim? HELP

I have at least 2 decent sized chips on the edge of my passenger door from my lovely friends slamming the passenger door in to my garage wall. I want something like a rubber trim that will slide on to the door edge to prevent this.

Here is a re-enactment of how this happens.

Me: Be careful when you open the door don't hit the wall
Friend: Dude you would kill me don't worry
Me: This is true, just open it step on the running board
Friend: OK
Friend: SLAM

dude you can buy the edging from pep boys or some auto supply place . I got it for mine a couple months ago cause I was getting some chips. Works good.
