I hope discussing guns here doesn't violate any forum rules... I didn't think so?
I saw this on one of the Ford Raptor Forums....
The Remote Control/Phone holder is perfect for holding two Glock 9mm mags
That got me thinking.... how to mount my G17? I was playing around with a magnet that Cevulirn sent me that he pulled out of an old hard drive: The G17 magwell rests on a small plastic hook, but I had to open the slide to get the rear of the slide to make contact with this small magnet:
I'm concerned that leaving the slide racked back with compression on the spring will weaken it over time???? But it does close nicely mounted like this:
I'm using a small cuved magnet that is perhaps 2mm thick.... I just ordered a 2"x1"x1/4" Neodynium Magnet that will fit perfectly into that little slot. I figured I'd use some 3M Adhesive to stick the magnet to the lid, cover it with some black electrician's tape to protect the pistol and now the magnet will be thick enough to hold the G17 without the slide being pulled back.
Yes, before the comments come "Sure officer, let me reach for my registration....", I keep my registration and insurance in the visor. I never to need to open the glove box or console without a search warrant.
