The photos that gDMJoe posted are useless for a Raptor or any other 2009+ F-150. The first filters shown are the filters on the bottom of the heated AND air conditioned seats... it's the filter for the seat's air intake. The second set of photos are fabricated cabin filters on an old Crown Victoria.

The 2009+ cabin intake is inside the wiper cowl cavity behind the PCM. I took photos of the actual intake a few months ago from a truck that had it's PCM removed. The intake opening is extremely irregularly shaped and has an uneven contour surface. It wouldn't be impossible to fabricate a filter for our trucks, but it would be fairly difficult due to the location it'd need to be installed and accessing it for any sort of regular maintenance would be a nightmare.

My suggestion is to forget about this idea.

Here's the photo. It's somewhat hard to know what you're looking at, but this photo was taken from the engine bay, looking through the firewall hole where the PCM mounts; the large suspended tab on the right side of the photo is the tab that supports the backside of our PCM. Beyond it you can see the cabin/HVAC blower intake epoxied to a horizontal part of the wiper cowl cavity with the mesh intake facing up. The photo does't do the lack of room justice, but it's extremely tight in there and not easily accessible for any sort of maintenance/filter changes.

I had a idea for a filter design but wanted to confirm the area in the photo is under the plastic hood cover, passenger side, before the windshield correct?

Yes... sort of.

It is below the plastic wiper cowl, but below the plastic is the steel of the truck cab. You can not remove the plastic wiper cowl and see the intake. The only way to see or gain reasonable access to the intake is to remove the PCM and access the cavity where the intake is through the hole were the PCM mounts on the firewall... and when I say reasonable I mean getting some small hands in there.

Do you have a site that give me a diagram? The design I came up with does not require the use of T-rex hands to fit into small places. I just need to know where to look so I can fabricate something up to test.

And the input is cabin (from under the seat) air, filtered thru ummm filters, and outputted thru the seats and into the cabin. I'd call that filtering.

The second set of pic's (retro' fit kit) noted that ..."(the cabin and HVAC was redesigned in 2009 and the kit (besides being obsolete) will not work))

The second set of photos are fabricated cabin filters on an old Crown Victoria.
The 3rd set of pic's have a prelude connotation of "FFT - cowl filter" (Food For Thought). MEANING: An example of something that could be considered. And as for "old Crown Victoria" ... 2011 is old? dunno.gif
