Hey y’all,
So its pretty common knowledge that one could fit a dirt bike (tailgate up) in the standard 5.5ft bed of an F150, but I couldn’t find much online about fitting one in with a tonneau/bed cover. Most people recommended getting a removable one that you’d take off when putting a bike in the back but I’m lazy and that was too much work to do every weekend.
Well I’m pleased to say that the Bakflip MX4 will fit a standard dirt bike in the bed with the tailgate up. I figured I’d share some pics of my 21 KTM 300XCW in the bed just so others who have the same question may have an easier time deciding and can see what it looks like. Paired with the $75 ramp from harbor freight and the built in tailgate step, it’s honestly a great setup and super easy to load/unload.
NOTE: the front fork does not rub the cover when the bike is strapped down. In this photo the bike is free standing.
Cheers!
