Regarding insurance, you're talking about your auto insurance correct? Not a golfer personally, but I've never heard of any insurance that a golfer might carry for golf ball damage.
I believe the golfer's home owners insurance may cover it, if they have a policy. Sounds crazy, but I have heard that a few times. I would call my agent and ask.

I have a much much worse scratch from a garage door accident on the roof and it bugs the crap out of me but I also, never see it. I would get in touch with a paintless dent repair guy and see how much they can get out.

An insurance check will be written to you and your lienholder if there is one. If not, it will only have your name on it. But I would squeeze the golfer.

There has to be a story behind this!
I would contact a paintless dent guy in your area, maybe your dealer can recommend one or just google and look at their reviews. I had a similar thing happen on my BMW about 2 years ago, He came to my house and thankfully I have a garage big enough to work on cars and trucks. He set up his lighting and proceeded to remove one B pillar and through that opening he was able to work the dent out, you would never know that it was there. I think it was around $140.00

I could have lived with it, but knowing it was there really bothered me and not to mention when you go to sell or trade it in, that's when it really hurts

Out of the 3 Raptors that I have traded in, I have never had a dealership inspect my roof. I seriously doubt a dealership would even see it, but given how cheap PDR is, it is a no brainer to have done.

Ask your dealer who they use for PDR. It’s aluminum...so make sure the PDR guy knows.
As far as insurance, the club (insurance) might pay for it with a police report. You could also peer pressure the golfer into paying for it, but he really isn’t on the hook, unless your state is different.

Hey everyone,

Just got hit by a golf ball on my roof, brand new Raptor 2020 :-/
Pretty pissed off, I got the golfer contact info, filed a claim etc.

First off, I just want to stress out that the roof is pretty darn solid! It felt like a bowling ball hit my roof when it happened. Took me a while to locate the ding... I had to parked in my garage and look at the roof from different angles.

Anyway, sad day. My question is, do you guys think it's worth taking the truck to a collision center to fix it? I really don't trust these people and I'm afraid things will start falling apart when I'll get the truck back. It happened with my wife's car (4runner), things never feel the same after you unmount stuff and put it back on.

Any thoughts? Should I take the risk (the insurance will pay for it) or should I leave it like that?
