Thanks, Vash. In your thread (http://www.fordraptorforum.com/f52/transfer-case-fluid-question-3336/#post709372) you mentioned that the spec for the T-case was 7mm (or about 1/4") below the lip of the fill hole. Still agree with that?

I wrote to Chris at FreedomMotorsports because his recommendation figured so prominently in your thread. He hasn't seen my PM yet, but when he does I hope he'll weigh in.

I'm probably not going to replace the front differential cover, but I'm looking to replace the transmission pan with a Mag-Hytec cover as soon as Chris can get his hands on them.

Which Amsoil Diff Fluid?

Was going through the Amsoil site and I noticed its calling out two different fluids for the front and rear diffs.

For the rear is calling for Severe Gear 75W-140 SVOQT
AMSOIL Severe Gear® 75W-140

For the front its calling for Severe Gear 75W-110 SVTGT
AMSOIL Severe Gear® 75W-110

Seems odd that the front and rear would use different weight lubes. Is it because the ELD requires a friction modifier? Can I get away with using the same lube with a friction modifier in the front diff as well? Guess I'm just a big fan of uniformity.

What are you guys using in your diffs???

Thanks gents!

Different fluids?!? Dont they know aint nobody got time for that!

So do you have to add a friction modifier to the Amsoil for the rear diff?

Differential Oil??

Hi All,

Ok...going to install a Mag Hytec diff cover when I eventually get back home from this shit-hole and wondering what oil to use?

Been reading quite a few posts on the subject...any thoughts appreciated...

Royal Purple, Amsoil, Redline, Lucas etc etc...

Documentation, facts or personal experiences all welcomed.
