I filled up at new gas station Friday , This morning got some different number on my AP octane knock modifier . Always it is 1.00 , this morning it was -1.0 then dropped -0.713 on way to work . Is this pulling timing or adding timing ? I only got into moderate boost 15 psi . I tried to read cobb article in hyperlink but my monster drink not kicking in yet i guess. Does not say anything about -0.7.

I think it says it will adjust towards -1.. so you're doing better with this gas, but it still isn't the most optimal

The math for the KOM was changed a few years ago for a best value of +1.0 and limited value of -1.0. The Cobb Raptor Map Notes mention these values. So if KOM is 1.0, fuel is great and if -1.0, fuel is crap or the engine isn’t up to temp yet.

Note that -0.7 is “better” than -1.0 as it is less negative.

Thanks for explaining. See what happens when I drive home from work going to be 105 deg this afternoon.

So my question, what intiated the -1.00 KOR it wasn't like that when I shut truck off day before it was 1.00. I remote started truck this morning was 59 deg ambient. Does ecm do this every so often? Is it from temp swings from morning to afternoon? Almost a 60 deg swing. Density altitude almost 2900 . True elevation 1400ft data page pic is sitting in my driveway after interstate run.

This morning it was 70 deg. Most of the way to work 7 mile drive , KOM stayed at 0.870 the last stop light and clear road ahead , got on some boost not full throttle . it jumped to 1.0 . I'm interested to know if this is a relearn self check the ECM does every so often . If you were doing a time run for max HP you defiantly want to be at a 1.0 on KOM. I'm guessing you would never know it was going through a relearn with normal driving and a little boost .

Sounds like poor quality gas to me. The KOM is fully dynamic and always in play based on KR. If you run good fuel, the KOM will stay at 1.0. Sounds like your tune is too hot for your local fuel. You can try a bottle of good octane boost like NOS or Boostane. You should really only monitor KR for real-time data at any given moment in time.

Thanks for info still don't understand why it was 1.00 then next morning it was -1.00. It was probably 50 miles on the fresh tank when it switched -1.00. When you say monitor KR . I don't see that available on my AP. I did knock Detected and had 1 event . It pulls pretty hard even in this heat I did WOT getting onto interstate and pulled good. See pic of available monitors. I did knock intensity it hi /low 2.0 to. -2.0 Avg -1.4 normal driving.
