what's basic difference, Reader's Digest version, between SE, HD and 270?

SE and HD are similar: both have a front and rear access panels. They open in typical fashion, front and rear. The HD is heavy duty and can hold more weight on top of cover.

270 replaces the one panel at the front with two panels. These panels open from the side allowing easier access to the front of the bed.

The 270 looks interesting, but I’m not certain I would like it better. I will probably be opening it to access my fridge. How large are the openings on the 270?

Sorry for the delay ...

Width of 26.5" but this narrows to 25" in the 3" closest to the bedside in order to accommodate the bracket used for the locking mechanism.

Depth of 25.5" from bedside to cover frame the runs down the center-line of the bed.

Hope this helps.

I emailed Diamondback today, they said no way on making me a cover without their stupid billboard logo over the tailgate. My only options for logo free would be to buy the bright silver cover, remove the logo, and then have it coated, or buy what I want and cut the logo off and get that one panel recoated. I like their cover enough I’ll probably just suck it up and live with the logo...it’ll only bother me for the first couple years.

I have the HD. For security and weathertight, it’s the best. The way it opens is a PIA. I removed it from my Gen2 as I await the Gen3. After removal, I noticed the plastic bed rails in the middle where it bolts are warped, basically dented.

I installed the HD diamond back and it is awesome. From order to delivery it was 7 days. Installs in about 45-60 mins.
