Deciding on a light set, looking for help

What about LED compared with the cheap HIDx lights I am considering? They only come in one pattern (euro), so that concerns me as far the light distance.

I went with MandR and couldn't be happier. I have the 40 behind the grill and DAMN it really lights things up. I also went with fog kit and really like that, (although it is too bright for road driving) I use the fogs whenever I would normally use my brights.

I am still waiting on Vision X to send me replacements for my HID's I ordered. (I received damaged lights... :wtf: )

When all is said and done, I will have LED's down low and HID's up high. I wanted LED's for total light and HID's for distance. I am really happy with the MandR lights so far. Jury's still out on Vision X.....

You're comparing cheap LED with mid-level HID... Probably similar just depends on what your needs are. If you want more distance, the HID is probably better, or LED for better flood lighting.

Expect HIDx lights to not last as long as a quality hid.

My Setup is rigid led in the bumper. Baja designs Hid up top. Works great.

Thanks everyone for the input. I think I am going to go with an LED bar in the bumper, and HID on the hood.

Just remember... You truly get what you pay for. I highly recommend purchasing mid or high level products, even if you have to save a little more $$$... Down the road, you'll be happy you did! I'm a firm believer in warranties, especially with off road lights! I'll pay more, even double, if that means a lifetime warranty which certain manufacturers offer.

You get what you pay for. But you have to find that balance of spending a ton of money to how often do you really use these. A race truck will have the best, no question, but its a race truck. A daily driver might turn their lights on a few times a week for a few mins. Not really necessary to spend a ton of money when the cheaper LEDS will be just as good.

Exactly, aux lighting is definitely necessary at times but only when its appropriate. Plus your overlooking the lights you will use the most... your headlights. Spend money where it counts, the guy your following will thank you when he doesn't have 40,000 lumen in his rear view, lol.

As mentioned many times, you get what you pay for. Why not buy from an American company that make their lights here in the USA?
Rigid lights do cost more but they are absolutely worth it

for me it is worth spending a little more money to get a lifetime warranty and to support a company that helps keep people in the USA employed and not give any more money to China
