ok. It is possible that it could be the camera switching module. I can look at a wiring diagram on monday to see what all is incorporated in the front cam system.

So I get a call from the Ford Regional Customer Service Manager (CSM) that Crystal referred my case to and the CSM tells me that having 3rd party mods on my Raptor VOIDS MY WARRANTY. When I asked her what's the purpose then of the upfitter switches that Ford put in these trucks (and gave instructions in the owners manual for connections), she told me they are supposed to only be used for "Ford accessories" and the only way for Ford to perform any work on it is for me to completely remove my lights at my expense. If the camera still doesn't work, she says I will have to then reinstall the lights at my expense (again) once Ford completes the repair if I still want the lights on my truck. She referenced a Ford tech bulletin (Special Service Message 10219) that says after market lights cause problems with the Raptor front camera. Does anyone have a copy or access to this bulletin? It smells like BS but I want to read the tech bulletin before taking my next step.

As of now, I'm stuck with $1500 of LED lights that Ford says voids my warranty when they are connected exactly how Ford says to connect them in the user manual. The lights are Rigid D2s & SR-Qs from Alternative Offroad and Whelen Micro-Pioneers from WSI so they are not some cheap off-brand LED lights. The installation was done by KHC and I watched them do every step so I know they installed it as instructed in the manual. I have not touched the LED installation or done any other electrical mods. Keep in mind that everything else works in the truck except the front camera and some minor quirks with the rear camera.

At least the dealership was working with me to try to resolve the problem. No knock on Crystal because I think she was trying to help but escalating to the Regional CSM seems to have done more harm than good for me. Oh, and the CSM told me if I speak to an attorney about it, she will have to close my case and Ford will not do any more warranty work on my new Ford vehicle.

Ford Customer Service at it's best!

I would not uninstall anything. Just disconnect the leads to the lights and then they are technically just appearance mods which they can not say voids the warranty.

Also if you want you can throw the federal statutes on warranty coverage in this **** heads face as they can only void a warranty when they can prove the aftermarket item caused the failure. Simple fact is this tool from ford has no idea what he is talking about as they can NOT void your entire ford warranty period.

This isn't even my truck but reading this just ****** me off. Ford needs to get their head out of their ass.

I dealt with CSM and they are idiots and for the record aren't even Ford employees. They most likely could care less about you or the success of Ford as a company.

I even contacted public relations, another bunch of idiots. I kinda wish Ford would fall on extreme hard times and hopefully truly appreciate their customers and realize having their heads suck in their ass actually stinks.

I was able to get the SSM from my service manager. It's a bit hard to read but I've attached it for anyone who cares. Turns out that the CSM totally lied to me about SSM 12019 (first of all she told me it was 10219 which was wrong - service manager says is 12019). The SSM specifically addresses how low current switches in Ford vehicles may fail due to an over current condition (duh). It says nothing about camera failure or any electrical failure other than the switch failure. All my switches work fine and I know the LED lights are well within the voltage and current specifications for the upfitter switches.

I have to agree with RDFTS, the FORD CSMs are idiots if they are all like the one that called me. Don't waste your time dealing with them. All it's done is cause me more grief with Ford trying to wriggle out of its responsibilities.

I guess I'll have to see what Ford comes up with next for this one.
