Dealer Sold My Raptor 37 to Another Buyer!

Dude I talked to these guys recently and they are selling a white 35 Raptor for $25k over MSRP. I did some digging and it looks like Covert bought a couple of allocations from a dealer in Pennsylvania. I questioned them about it and they said they bought the allocations for $19k from them. They would not move on price, $5k over MSRP that you go seemed decent. Screw these clowns!

It was probably Chapman. I asked about ordering a Raptor and they had sold all of their allocations to another dealer. Or maybe it was a "locator" company? Don't remember exactly which.

Not surprised at all. Those guys are known for ADM and shady deals. I'm honestly more surprised that Haik was 'awesome' they are the rip off kings of GT.

Glad you found something that works for now and hopefully you can get a Raptor down the road. Just steer of the Covert Clowns.

According to Automotive News, the two men, Craig Tondre, formerly a sales manager at Covert Ford Hutto, and dealer employee Joshua Ellard, were arrested last month and charged with dealing firearms without a license. Ellard had previously been convicted in Florida of second-degree murder.

Totally sucks that this happened to you man, greed rears its ugly head once again. This just adds fuel to the fire that Ford will eventually bypass the dealerships and implement a direct-to-customer (DTC) sales model. Unfortunately, the bad apples are seemingly spoiling the bunch and making it easier for Ford to make the decision to go DTC.

Covert Ford of Austin don't give a f***....they are a large dealership that get 15-20 allocations for Raptors. I hate that place and would never give them business.

Mac Halik is pretty good in Texas. I believe they have allocations now. 5000 over msrp though. Call Art Espinosa, always when giving a deposit get the contract signed with price. Msrp plus 5 adm and no add on mud flaps and yes 5000 msrp but they will do 4500

That was my biggest fear while waiting on mine to come in. As it seemed they were constantly going up in price. But, I think there’s enough members here that could contribute driving that 4 star review down to 1 star.

I already have an order placed since 12/28 with a diff dealer but the dealer you are talking about doesn't have an allocation. I live 15 min away from that place.

Yup. They are horrendous -- but the guy posting is from CA, and TX dealers (esp Haik) love CA suckers.
