I received a message about a month ago from a dealer here in Houston that said they placed an order for me. They did so without my asking them to, so I just shrugged it off. I got bored/curious so I responded to the guy today. This is our conversation.

It just irritates me that dealers cant be more honest. I get that they need to make money, but this sort of BS is what gives them a bad name (in my opinion).

Is there an way to contact Ford and cancel the order, or is that too petty? lol

Just thought id share.

If changes can be made, I'll take the order off your hands. I'm in no hurry, but do want to get one ordered.

did he respond to you after your last message there?

I wonder how he gets paid at his dealership, if hes on a flat rate then he has no incentive to say that, but if he gets paid a % of the gross then he definitely does.

Funny thing is that they would still sell it at MSRP anyways, so you'll win if you just wait, but thats assuming you still want the truck.

If you do buy the truck, you can hurt them buy not buying any extra's in the back end of the deal (PPF, accessories, warranties etc), obtain your own financing if possible, and then not service with them in the future. This way the only margin they make is in the front end of the sale.
