lol, the example was to show the ultrawealthy are bunkering up...but “even kanye” clearly went waaay over your head.

why are you ridiculing folks who get in line for testing...i order the test for a large portion of folks who need it to return to work. i guess testing for anyone who enters the White House is just good politics and for the media but hey what do i know?

i gave it a good try for your benefit and hopefully even others.
I hear the same excuses every single day but hey it is human nature to find any justification to be a blinded sheep right?

Fact is the actual death rate is less than 0.25%

Fact is that you're dumber than a box full of rocks. The death rate is the number who'd had it divided into the number who die. You're dividing the whole population of the US, about 1% of whom have had it, into the deaths. You're off by a factor of 100 or so. With your facts. Facts are like hammers. Use them wisely and you can accomplish a lot. Use them badly and you can do a lot of damage. If your facts were hammers, you'd be drunk and swinging away in a china shop with the lights off.

I'm not saying this in any hope that I can get you to understand. If I were, I'd have responded to your first grossly mistaken post. I'm doing it for anyone you might be misleading with your facts, which are correct, and your incredibly bad math, which is not.

Edit: typo replaced by with into

He didn't divide by the total population (at least I don't think he did, maybe he did IDK), he just did bad decimal placing, but yes, he is off by factor of 100 due to converting to %.

so, just to clarify, the data show that 3.48M tested positive, 138K died = 3.96% death rate.

yes?

ok, and if we look at an average flu season, we are looking at 50K deaths by 30,000,000 who get the flu, that's a death or mortality rate of .017%

So, if my math has treated me well, COVID, based on the numbers we have, is about 22 or 23 times, (or sticking with %'s it is 2200%) more deadly.

Now, it's reasonable to believe that the number of those who have actually had it, is higher than what we KNOW and that will drive down the mortality rate.

I was going off this. He did the division right, it's just that giving him a calculator is like giving a three-year-old a loaded gun. If the whole population had had it, the percentage would be correct. Given that a tiny fraction of our population has had it, he's not even on the right planet, let alone the right ballpark.

I assume nothing. I base my actions on facts. So here they are.

0.039% of the US population has died "from covid" about 130,000
There are about 329 million in the usa today.

This is true. If 2% have had it, he's only off by a factor of 50. And the comparison to great white sharks? Five deaths last year worldwide from all shark species. 7,800,000,000 people. 0.000000064% He's only off by a factor of 60 million. I'm surprised he got so close. :)

This ignorance keeps getting amplified. People just want to be stupid.

And that includes the people in solo kayaks with masks on. In case someone decides that’s the next straw man.
