I'm a fan of Thinkware myself - the new u3000 unit has radar for better parking mode operation.

I think part of this is the cost savings. Thinkware U3000 is a lot more but you also get what you pay for. Which is why folks are on standby to get some feedback on this unit.

finally got this setup over the weekend - relatively simple install (on my wife's Explorer ST) highly recommended - simple to use and decent iphone app too
