Curious to see how folks have routed dash center mounted comms. I have a 24 and am planning to mount a cb (yes cb) on my dash above the nav unit on a built right mount.

I had this done on my 2019 and routed the cable up through behind the screen from under the drivers kick panel but it was a rough process. I also am not sure I want to drill a hole in my trim piece.

I’ve seen some videos of folks with radios in this location so I’m curious. Any advice appreciated.

Since the new BuiltRight's dash mount for 2024 Raptors requires you to drill into the trim piece to mount it down, might as well drill an extra hole for the power wires and antenna wire? I've done this on my work's 2021 F-150 Lariat with BRI's Pro Dash Mount, secured with security screws on the radio itself and looks cleaner--also prevents theft if someone tries to break in and steals it. When I sold it, the rubber mat (that you do have to remove in the first place), went over it and no one, including the dealer even saw the 3 small holes.

Another way is find a company that does in-console radio mount that is meant specific for your radio so it stays hidden, which I did for my new Kenwood radio on my '24 Raptor. Mic is hidden and mounted right besides the radio mount in the console; can easily just pull out the mic and use it while leaving the console closed. If I need to change the channel, just open the console lid and change it; it's that simple.

Which radio are mounting because there may be other options to mount it. The good thing about the drilling into that trim panel is, it can easily be replaced or like someone else already mentioned, put the rubber mat over the wholes and no one will notice.

I didn’t want my radio out in plain for two reasons; I don’t use it enough to want to see it each time I’m in the truck and second being, the crime in Atlanta is terrible and don’t want them breaking my windows to steal it. Although the people that would steal it have no clue as to how to use it. I mounted mine in place of the wireless phone charger since that charger is worthless.
