Checked this morning on the way to work, ambient temp was maybe 90 degrees at most, CAC temp hit 150 by the time I parked, fans ARE working, geez I really need to consider this upgrade
Interesting. I live in AZ desert. I haven’t seen CAC above 145 ( towing boat on hot day) since install so maybe the threshold is 150.

I've noticed the stock tune starts pulling timing like a SOB when its starts getting warm. Definitly going to be upgrading this time around.

Nature of the game. Summer heat generally takes some edge out of that power.

That is interesting, thanks for the feedback
So I I saw CAC of 156 today idling. ( towing a boat in 118) still no IC fans running. I’m starting to think something is wrong…

It’s worth saying the Titan cool things down fast under boost.

@CVF-Jason whats the difference between the v1 and v2 in terms of performance, I noticed your v2 is back ordered and more expensive, would I gain much by spending the extra money and waiting?

Thanks

If you are getting proper airflow to the intercooler, fans are NOT NEEDED. Ford put them on (the only vehicle I've ever known to have dedicated IC fans BTW) because of 2 reasons - 1 the license plate literally blocks the flow of air to the intercooler, 2 the OEM IC is garbage. Mostly because of reason 1 though. I cringe every time I see a plate (or lights) blocking the intercooler opening.

The v2 is 27% larger (the main gain here as larger is generally better, and we're using the same proprietary core that's on the Titan v1 - which has proven 40+ degree reduction). That alone is the kicker here.

It also has a drain plug on the cold side end tank and removes the coupler connection on the lower cold side - something Raptor folks particularly asked for as they can blow off under high boost levels.
