So I want to do something slightly different with my horn setup. I want to ADD two horns to the stock horn. A Wolo Bad Boy and a Nautilus Truck horn. The Wolo is higher pitched and the Nautilus nice and deep, so I'm hoping the combo will sound loud and awesome.

I don't want to delete the stock horn for the chirps, etc.

And here's the catch - I want to use my aux switches to turn "on" the two horns (enable power to them, not trigger them) and then use the stock horn button on the steering wheel to sound one (stock), two or three horns depending on which aux switches are activated.

I basically want to make the two new horns "optional".

So here's my question - I want to use Aux 3 and 4 do this, since I'm planning some lights for 1 and 2. Aux 3 is 15 amp and aux 4 is 10 amp, which are not enough to sound the horns.

Since I'm not planning to activate the horns with the aux switches, just "enable" them, is there a clever way to wire this setup?

All three horns (stock and two new ones) could potentially go off if both aux switches are active and I sound the horn with the steering wheel switch. Is this possible? Am I going to overload something somewhere?

I'm hoping to be able to trigger the horns with the steering wheel. I just want to use the aux switches to enable/disable the extra horns. Can I do that with a relay?

I know computers, but car electronics stump me. Go figure.

the oem horn is a purple/green wire. negative trigger. connect 85 to that wire. connect 86 to the aux switch. 87 goes to power, and 30 goes to the positive of the new horn. 87a is not used

ZBoater,
Yes.
Run the upfitter switches to a separate relay. Wire the relays with the correct guage wiring/fuse for the amperage needed for the horns. When you hit the switch for the horns the relays will be powered; wire the relays parallel to the horn switch so that when you hit the horn if a relay is powered the horn you activated will sound.

Awesome. That's what I'm looking for. Although I just got done hard wiring my Homelink mirror and have decided to contribute to the local economy and take this horn install to my local car audio shop. Some things are best left to the professionals....

(Yes, I wimped out)

this is a simple install... but if you got an extra 50.00 to give the audio shop feel free. or feel like fifty bucks less...

Yeah, I enjoy tinkering but when it comes to wiring and fuses and relays, its just not fun for me. I'd rather do an oil change. There comes a point where my blood, sweat and tears cost me more than $50...

some people are not electrically minded. and thats why we are all here. everyone is good at something and being able to share to allow others the opportunity to make the attempt themselves is what its all about.
