It's one of those things. You think it would be nice to have better light's! Then once you do there's no going back.

That's not totally true. The cap covered the holes drilled in the bed. The only thing you'll really see is the little notches I put in the cap of the bed rail but I'm sure if I were to move the mount back about half an inch you wouldn't even have to cut the cap but you gotta think about the cab and bed moving I've got scratches on my cab where my bed has hit my cab so it would definitely hit the light too that's why I moved it up a little. You're right when you say some might regret doing it and its definitely not a mod for everyone haha but what's a little hole and a notch in a plastic cap it doesn't bother me actually I think it adds characters haha

Awesome job on this. I had almost the exact same idea but i was going to use flood lights just to have the extra light when working late or packing the truck at night.

clean install!

Looks great Pat!!!!!! Just saw this thread. I was wondering what happened to those old Rigid Ambers!

I want to do this so bad. I think I'm going to do one white and one amber. Amber for running at night off road, and white for bed light, setting up camp and so on. I want to figure out how to put a switch on the mount. I'm out of uplifter switches so I need a plan B.

Looks great again. Any tips on getting though rail covers off?

Yea it would be easy to do a switch on the bed by the light! And all it is to get the rails off are the clips under the rail just squeez and pull up!

Would it be possible to use the "claw" mounts that are used for the hood lights? Or would the holes not line up correctly?

Seems like you might be able to but just flip them. As in use the passenger claw mount on the driver side and vice versa.

I'm sure you could but man that are expensive mounts.

Since you're drilling the holes I'm sure they'd work. Only concern is how thick the base is (insert ***** comment here).
