I really appreciate you guys being the deep pocketed brave guinea pigs for the rest of us patient mofos to find out what quirks & problems this freshly designed model will have, maybe blow $$$ on the first rounds of mods that come out from vendors & find out which ones are just overpriced blocks of metal (what up RPG), & which are well worth it- maybe figure out which catch cans & CAIs throw codes & void warranty....all the helpful stuff

Appreciated, & Carry on! Hell look at it this way, w/ the level of inflation were about to get crushed by thanks to Pres Houseplant, an ADM of $5k on a 2021 truck may be dead nuts even in 2022 dollars bahahhahahahha

Price gouging is price gouging no matter how it's titled or justified. Once a manufacturer sets an MSRP it should be either ok for any seller to mark up or no one, not ok for some but not ok for other.

Ford completely showed their hand when they snapped their finger and made the mark up disappear on that Mach E. No surprise there. they own the company so they set the rules.

Cody Mathes has a list of dealers on his Raptor Connection channel that have agreed to sell for MSRP. He is also a member of many of the Raptor groups on Facebook. He works for Offroad Alliance.

I love how MSRP is the goal. They make more than enough profit on these things. $500 over invoice is more than enough for them.

Do you think dealerships will be selling below MSRP right away? Maybe MY22

All depends on demand. Every order burns an allocation. A dealer won't burn a spot on someone paying $500 over invoice when someone else will pay MSRP.

Doubt that happens (widespread at least) until at least end of 2022, given the almost-certain lower volumes of Raptors produced this year.

A company controlling the prices of it's products is not socialism, or communism. It's capitalism.

Agreed, but your analogy of selling vehicles and selling consumer electronics are completely different markets. The volume of sales and profit margin are vastly different. Retailers rely on higher sales volume than profit per sale. They also have a lot more competition to deal with, since customers have many other options. Even if they could mark up prices, it's likely that they wouldn't attempt to since customers would take their business elsewhere (perhaps one time purchase of that in demand product only). Dealerships typically have a couple other dealerships nearby at best, who are also charging ADM, so it's not like customers have other options.

This model is changing though. I remember when the dealer invoice was an unknown quantity, and customers couldn't use that for bargaining. Now it's well known and used all the time. And more importantly, the internet has made it possible for customers to show outside their local area much easier. There's also a lot of dealerships that are changing their sales strategy to a higher volume, lower profit per sale model, which forces prices down overall. I don't know that Ford really needs to take broad action on ADM, since I think the problem is going to go away by itself over time.

Makes sense. Thanks

So if a dealership has 5 allocations for a month and a wait list to order with 20 people deep...that doesn't necessarily mean the first 5 people on that list get an order? I can imagine the dealership maybe using 4 of the 5 allocations for orders, and saving 1 for the lot to get more out of it? Theoretically speaking of course
