I understand that Corsa bought out Volant, but what makes their intake for the 6.2L worth 5 to 6 hundred when others are going for around 3? I don't mind paying the extra bit if there are advantages.

It's only $500-$600 if you don't know where to look. dB Air Intake System 44388 Corsa Performance - High Performance Parts and Accessories from Got Exhaust
To answer your question directly, part of it has to do with the Donaldson Powercore filter that is used. The filter alone retails for about $100.
Secondly, the air box is an entire replacement with a molded air inlets on the front of the box and near the factory location. Many of the other intakes retain the lower portion of the stock intake box.
Besides that, there's nothing remarkably different. Any leftover dollars and cents you can attribute to the Corsa name and warranty. It is a quality setup, and with proper discounting you can purchase it closer to the neighborhood of aFe, Airaid, K&N, etc.
Anyone know an official part # for the prefilter used on the volant powercore for our trucks? Ordered 1 already that didnt work, think this may be the one tho...

Just received and installed a pre/post Corsa/Volant intake (don't know) with Power Core, but was very disappointed with the fit and finish. I paid just under $400 and didn't expect this, especially when it retails for $500. Lid didn't fit and bracket required trimming to line up.
