Would you be interested in a collapsible Jack Stand?

Richard W. Bogert the President of The Bogert Group is most likely going to produce a collapsible jack stand. He has asked "Are there any other attributes that you think would be good to incorporate? Do you have anything on your wish list for things you wish were available but no one has done it yet? Common complaints that have not been addressed?". I responded "I believe collapsible wheel chocks would pair nicely with it. The cover of the jack stand also works as a base for an HI-Lift. The "Safe Jack Stabilizer for Hi-Lift" could be combined with the Slee jack stand to create something better than either product alone." If any of you have any thing to add to this let me know or he can be contacted at E-mail: [email protected]

One issue I have with HiLift jacks is their tiny base. This has been addressed by Bogert's base and other designs including the Slee you show (not sure that's been sold in quantity).

Seems like there's a simple solution for giving the HiLift jack a larger base: Attach the base with two pins (like hinge pins) when you want to have a larger base (instead of using the design with the cable or resting the HiLift on a larger base.

I'm not sure my description will convey the idea but the HiLift jack would have half a hinge welded to each side of its base and the HiLift jack base plate would have 2 half hinges welded to it. To securely attach the HiLift jack to the base plate, line up the hinges and slide the 2 pins in.

How's that sound?

Unless you're on flat pavement, HiLift themselves in the manual tells you to use a larger base. Most guys just carry a 2x4 or slab of plywood and either seems to work well enough.

I chose to carry the base sold by HiLift for the purpose, called the "ORB" (off road base). This guy:

OP, yep I'm interested!

^^I would have loved to see a comparo between plywood, the ORB and their product. Like I said, HiLift themselves tells you to never use their jack without a base if off flat pavement, so I don't really consider what they show to be a fair test.

The Bogert Safe Jack Stabilizer is more than just a bigger base plate. It's would be hard to explain here and now but if you look at their video, it becomes very clear what the advantage is. Go to youtube and search on "Safe Jack Stabilizer".
