Pretty sure all MPT does (or any tuner for that matter) is make it so the fans kick on at a lower temp. I think MPTs 170 tune add in sets the fans to turn on at 185F. But of course, I could be totally wrong too.

If it took 4 weeks to come on there maybe a different issue , poor connection at the temp sending unit perhaps?

I have been running a 170 t-stat for over a year on my 2018 with the MPT 93PRX tune and I have never seen a code. I live in SE Texas and my truck runs from 180-195 even when the outdoor temps reach 100 degrees. I have a FullRace IC and custom frame-cut bumper, so my fans were removed at the time of my install.

Not sure if anything changed with the 2019s, but you should contact MPT.
