“Somewhere in the boonies” I was able to do some 0-60 runs. Stock map in sport 2H I was running 6.3sec. 93 stage 1 tune in same settings I was running 5.5sec and struggling with wheel spin! Temp outside was 48 at about 500 feet above sea level. 2500 miles on the odometer on the stock BFG KO2’s at 35 lbs. Better driver input and figuring out the best brake boost point and I bet it takes a few more tenths off. Man I love this truck!

Damn I forgot the Cobb will measure that! Looks like a good way to prove our some mods on my other toy as well!

Has anyone verified if there is actual gain from the intake? Is there an advantage, other than audibly, that the intake provides over just the standard Stage 1 tune? I have not seen any dyno comparison of Stage 1 vs Stage 1+.

I would assume the stock box can flow enough until you start upgrading turbos. Maybe I’m wrong...

No gain that I’ve seen. The box makes a difference in the noise department though. Can hear the turbos!

Do you own the intake? Throttle response improved? Could you do a video? I don’t even see Cobb intake videos on YouTube from those who installed. Would love to hear what it sounds like stock vs Cobb intake. I’ve owned their parts on my GTR, Evo X, BMW 335i, and soon to be for my Raptor. Always great product in my experience.

Got my Accessport in the mail today. Thanks Apollo-Optics! Installing tomorrow.

Patiently waiting on the intake, sign me up for more turbo sound!

I asked before and I assume the answer is yes. This 93 ots tune good to go with the awe H pipe and turbo adapters?

I can make a better one soon. Took a super short video yesterday on getting the intake installed.

It's one of those situations where I'll say, "it depends." If you're only going to go with Stage 1+ and you don't care about the aesthetics (both visually and audibly), then it may not be for you. But, if you plan to go with Stage 2 or Stage 3, I view the CAI as a supporting modification for increased flow throughout the entire system (intake, intercooler, downpipes, etc.).

Glad we could help get you setup! Only a couple more weeks until we have them in our hands and on the way to you! As far as your other modifications, you will be fine.

I've been driving on the AP for over a week now with the full intake, a couple days on the 87 map (I fuel 91 in CA) and the remainder on the 91 map. I've also been talking with two of my friends with '17s, @Raptor-FTW and another who lurks here. We all have the same takeaways pretty much.

My overall impressions:

  1. Mileage was improved on the 87 map over stock (both while fueling 91). Wasn't super aggressive with controlling variables and proving it, but over my usual commute it was about 0.6 mpg (17.8 over 17.2) better over two days.
  2. Mileage on the 91 map with new-map-hoonage, is about the same as my commute mileage before the AP was installed (17.2).
  3. I agree with the person (can't find it, sorry) who said that even though this doesn't have a TCM tune, the transmission does seem to be behaving better and shifting feels less noticeable, in that the weird jolty shifts from the stock TCM seem to be less common. This could be confirmation bias, don't know, but it at least feels this way.
  4. The power band feels more linear or convex as opposed to a more concave feel before. The power feels like it comes in earlier and ramps more consistently. How much of that is increased power vs. different mapping is unclear, but I can firmly say that the truck feels more powerful and faster due to the improvements in both combines.
  5. I ran the first 4 days on the normal pedal response setting and was happy. Bumped pedal response setting up to 1 and am definitely even happier with it.
  6. I'm getting lots of looks from Subabros beause I installed the Cobb license plate frame holder and I think they think I'm dumb or a poser.
