Cobb TCM 2020 owners

2020 here. Running Cobb stage 1 for now, with TCM tune. The original transmission tuning with skip shifting on regular settings was awful, and hanging on to gears too long in sport.

TCM on OEM+ was actually not very good, and I was concerned that Sport would be too much. Now running Sport mode and it is actually smoother than OEM+, and there is no skip shifting. MPG has dropped 1-2 miles with a good mix of highway/street even though I feel that I'm driving about the same.

I just can't find a dynamic pedal control number I like. 3 is ok but I have to stomp to get into it. I ran as high as 7 but that's too twitchy. Love how easy it is to change it on the fly, though.

Good news there’s a number 5 halfway between the two.

I’m stage 2 Goosed and run the Sport TCM tune with DPC at 5 and it’s a perfect daily setup to me.

Yep that is a decent set up. Still wish that the TCM sport was as responsive as the stock sport mode, but without holding the gears.

I tried 7 out over the weekend to see what it was like and yeah its not good, unpredictable response is my opinion. Went back to 5 and feels so much better.

Yeah, worth messing around with since it's so easy to switch back.

I'm kinda digging OEM+ with DPC at 3 and then toggling on the truck's sport mode. It seems to be that happy middle ground I've been searching for. In normal mode, it's still great, but then switching over to sport wakes it up and it performs much better than I remember sport mode being pre-tune. I'm not sure how custom tunes are supposed to interact with the OEM modes, but they're playing real nice together on this one.

So you 2020 with Stage 2 tunes...have you been to a dealer with it? Any warranty issues? I have 3000 miles on my truck and thinking about a tune but worried about warranty issues.

Edit - has anyone had emissions issues with the tune?

go with a stock location cooler, they’ll never notice. It’s so hidden. Cobb , Wagner etc.


OP, I noticed with the OTS TCM tune from Cobb it has a slight kick to it, which I feel is not really necessary. I went with a Johnson tune & his custom tcm. Night and day from the Cobb OTS trans tune.

I have a 2020 with the Cobb with tcm. Typically run it in simulated stock. In normal mode it is very smooth and I’d say a good bit better than stock. In sport it’s an aggressive shift but nothing clunky or harsh. Honestly don’t know that I’d do the tcm again if I was to do it over. I use my truck 98% of the time for commute so I’d imagine I don’t use the tune up to its capability. But overall I’m happy with the setup and it’s a noticeable power and drivability gain over stock.

Set it to 5 on Friday before some weekend driving and not liking it. Too sensitive from a stop or when driving on bumpy roads.

4 felt ok, but might just go back to 3 for the smoother feel over the full range of pedal travel.
