Clunking sound on Gen 3 too

My truck was sitting at the dealer since Monday to get the front two replaced. Got a call today saying to come pick it up while they wait for 8 one time use bolts that are on back order indefinitely. Can’t count the number of times I’ve dropped the truck off at this point just for the front shock issue alone. Frustrating to say the least.

Attended raptor assault and the instructor said the clunking issue is with the front shocks. Said something about Fox not chamfering a part enough. Said the problem is annoying but is mechanically sound. Issue was fixed in early 2022 builds. He wasn’t sure what Fords fix was going to be.

So MY22 and later will be fine, but no planned fix for MY21?

There is a fix, they updated the front shocks to fix the issue. Not all FY22s received the updated part, mine is currently waiting on bolts to get my fronts replaced.

Read through the thread a lot of us posted videos. But if you are asking the question, assuming you are not hearing noises; therefore i suggest do something more productive

The noise is difficult to get on video directly, at least the front is. I posted some videos awhile back of my truck with chassis ears and it is easily heard.

I found something interesting just a moment ago. The part numbers on my new front struts don’t match the part numbers on my invoice. Also, if I Google the part numbers from my invoice, the parts catalogs show that those numbers replace the part numbers that are currently installed on my truck.

Got my truck back today with the fronts replaced, so far so good but I only drove it 5miles to the house. The plot does thicken though because I SHOULD have the same part numbers as you since we both have 37” trucks but mine differ in that the new front left is an AQ not an AL, but my front right is AN which supersedes the previous part number AH… now I’m wondering what the heck is the difference between the AQ and AL spec
