Hey guys. After the awesome success of our first ever Chicagoland Raptor Meet & Greet, we're going to continue on with our first ever group shop day.

At the M&G, we had no less than 4 guys that wanted to move to Mid Perch. We had in our midst two guys, one even from another forum, that had done the mod in the past and were willing to help out. I had offered up my house as the location for the work, needing only to rent a spring compressor or two, to get the job done.

Then Big Blue suggested he might be able to talk his Vette shop's owner into letting us use his lifts. I still offered to bring tools, as you know how guys are about their tool, err, I mean tools. We are pending on this offer.

And if you have other items to bolt onto your truck, no reason you can't use this time to get them on, whether they're new HID upgrades (yes I just bought these) or a set of Outlaw Raptor Hood Mounts (yes I bought these too) and a set of HIDX 4" HID lamps (okay, I know, I have a problem). Point it, if you've been meaning to get it on or you needed an extra set of paws, this could be your chance.

Right now, in the immediate future, I have the following dates open:

October 6
October 7
October 20

September is pretty full, especially this coming weekend, but we'll see where we can land.

We also have the VERY generous offer of Donk74 and the use of his not one but two spring compressors. One I understand will work with the shock still on the truck!:drool:

So let us know soon if you're either interested in a perch mod, a mod of some other kind, or if you just want to help. I'm told that with experienced hands, we might get a trunk done in 90 minutes. Not sure if that's pushing it or not, so I welcome input from others that have done it. I'll keep an update to post with who's coming and for why.

Thanks again to all those that are helping put this together. Let's just hope there's more than one non-Blue Raptor this time!

90 is pushing it, especially if the truck has miles on it. I think more like 2 hours with two guys, is what you should shoot for.

Good News update.

I spoke with Craig (Owner of HP Performance) and he thinks its a cool idea!

I have not spoken to him regarding pricing yet.

I think Todd's dates are great. That way the Vette traffic is done and he will block out the Shop just for us. We do have to do this on a Saturday, so either 10/6 or 10/20 is good for me.

He has a full time Mechanic on staff too.

So I am going to propose to him/you guys;

We get the shop for as long as it takes our group to do all the trucks. Based on voiced interest so far, look like we need 4-5 hours. We can start at 9AM so it does not kill the whole day.

We get full use of both Lifts, Compressor, Spring Compressor (He has) and any other tools needed.

We get full use of Jimmy (the Mechanic). We will need one of the guys who already did this to show him the details.

In return, I think $100 per Job is fair to be paid to Craig. I will supply the Pizza and Cokes for everyone.

As I stated on the 1st Meet post, his shop is only 5-10 minutes from where we met. I would be happy to meet at On the Border at 8AM and then you could all follow me there so you dont have to worry about directions.

Let me know your thoughts??

Let me know your thoughts?? and post which of the 2 dates works. Either is fine with me.

I'm in, but assume 120 minutes per truck, so we might go through lunch with 5 or even 6 trucks. $100 bucks is fine for me. I think that's fair for the ease of NOT being slumped over for 6 hours!

I will tell him the October 6 date for now...If you guys are like me (and I bet you are)....sooner is better! :lol2:

Couple tips:

-Just peel the fox sticker under the coil spring off, after you get the spring off the shock. You won't get the lower spring holder over it.
-spray the suspension components off at the car wash before you begin.
-Mark the upper spring holder with a sharpie somehow that signifies which way is up and the outside, not super important as it only goes on one way, but time consuming if your sitting there trying to figure out which way it goes.

There some more, if you have any questions email or call me

It would be bout a 3hr drive for me to get down there as Im up near Greenbay, but Ive been looking into doin the mid perch in my garage. If you guys set it up, October 7th (saturday) would be best as My wife and I are goin to Hawaii on the 18th for our honeymoon. The 100 bucks may be a bit steep to run by her especially driving that far to do it, but Ill c what I can do and keep an eye on this thread for updates. I also wanted to get the meet n greet last weekend but had family stuff come up that weekend
