I am doing this, but was going to do myself. However, even at a reputable detailer, how to you know they did it right and all of it? Is there a way to tell?

If it were me, I'd look for recommendations from friends. Then I'd do some research, watch videos and such, to see how it's done and what to expect. When I finally talk to a shop, I'd ask question that show I have an idea of what to expect. I've found that places tend not to cut corners if they think you will catch it.

I’ve had it professionally done on my last two vehicles (gen 2 included). I’m not ceramic coating my gen 3 - instead going to do clear bra / PPF on key areas. Much rather protect against scratches than just ease of cleaning.
3gen has less paint in the front, just plastic parts that will fade. Funny enough, I am doing the reverse, I had PPF on the bullitt and now I will do ceramic coating on the truck

On my just ceramic car, the rock chips bugged me and the paint still swirled up after a dealer wash.. So I always felt the $1100 was a waste.

Not sure how crazy I’ll get with PPF on the gen 3, but figure $2500 could get some decent coverage (partial front hood & fenders, bed side, rockers). Wish I had a small enough ride to do full PPF and not worry about swirl jobs.
