A lot of forums don't search well. It takes a lot of computing resources from the forums site. Google is much better suited and they have the resources to perform searching forums.

Here's my solution that I promised moons ago.
It has adhesive on the mounting side and magnetic on the front. It comes with adhesive metal plates to attach to your phone/ham radio. I've taken this offroading and on some serious jumps, and they never moved.

I bought the proclip mount, then attached a ram mount ball mount base with some screws and finished it off with the ram mount x grip.
